So here I am , standing in my kitchen leaning against the counter, sipping HOT coffee (yes, I’m excited too!) I realize this is the first time in a long while that the house is not buzzing with activity; kids running around, tv on, dog crying to go out to pee… and why is it so quiet?
Because all 3 kids have been treated to a morning out with dad to go for breakfast and do the groceries!
As I look around at this house that we love, I see many things around that COULD cause me stress and make me want to put down my hot coffee and tidy up so that out home looks better.
But instead, I move to the kitchen table and continue sipping this life juice I call coffee.
As my brain starts to wake up from its slumber, I start to realize that our house could be more of a home if I just got on top of all the things that HAVE to be done so that we can do the things we WANT to do.
Laundry, dishes, tidying up toys, cleaning… these need to be done. But how can I do this AND still have time to play outside in the fresh snow with the kids? Do that puzzle of Big Ben that’s been sitting on my shelf since Christmas? Crochet the scarf that I started 4 months ago? Finish this damn coffee????
Surely life can’t just be about picking up after the mini humans we created. There is more to it than that. There is fun to be had!!!
Over the past 2 years of living in our home, working, sleeping, planning and crafting in our home, I slowly started my journey to easing this life of hustle and servitude. I have made some changes that have made me feel lighter and happier. Is life easy now? Nope! Is it easier than it was ? It’s getting there…. One sip of coffee at a time!
I’m learning and making tiny changes everyday. I can see what my life will look like, it’s just that little bit out of reach still… Surely I’m not the only one that feels this way?
So why not join me and we can do this together?
There will be coffee, laughs, tears and a lot of helpful tips to not just make the temporary changes but to create a life with more easy and more space for the things that bring you joy!
I will warn you… I am NOT a writer… I am NOT an expert but I will be a helping hand, a listener, a motivator and someone to sip that morning coffee with (even if it’s been forgotten in the microwave!)
So welcome to the first step In the right direction!
